The lettuce and spinach kind of worked, the spinach better than the lettuce. I could tell that in January they were suffering for lack of light so I got a bit discouraged and didn't plant any more. I tried letting both go to seed, but neither appears to have done so.
The tomatoes seem to be doing well. We probably have more than we can use and they are going to be too big for their containers soon. I am not sure what I will do with the extra plants.
I think I am going to be able to keep the tomatoes in the big pots indoors year round. I have been doing some reading to learn what to do about the lack of indoor wind and insects with respect to pollination. I am going to start with opening the windows when it is nice and try giving them a breeze that way.
